Bio 11 overview

Biology 11 was filled with new things that I didn't know, and I am happy that I chose to take this course because I really enjoyed it! I learned lots of new things from the evolution of all organisms (which was a concept that stayed present all throughout the course) I learned a lot about how things work and function in bacteria, to plants, and animals. I also learned a lot about a ton of new organisms and their Kingdoms, Phylums, Subphylums/Class, etc...  I think that throughout this course I did a pretty good job but if I could change something I did in this course it would definitely be to pay more attention during the bacteria section. I didn't find the bacteria section as interesting as I found the animal section and I would say the bacteria section is one of my weakest sections, so I would definitely of changed that. One of the sections I found the most interesting in Biology 11 was the Kingdom Animalia section. I really enjoyed that section because I loved being able to learn about all types of animals, I really enjoyed doing the dissections and I also really enjoyed being able to travel to the aquarium and see the animals up close and personal ( the aquarium is also one of my all time favourite places to go). Biology is my favourite subject and I just really enjoyed Bio 11 as a whole and I'm pretty sure I will be taking it next year as well!  

Aquarium Field Trip

The Animal from the trip I found interesting from the trip was the jellyfish, although I have always found jelly fish extremely fascinating. Jellyfish belong to the phylum Cnidaria and the class Scyphozoa, and most jellyfish have special stinging cells called nematocysts that other organisms in their phylum/class also posses.

Arthropods

Phylum: Arthropoda

Subphylum: Crustacea 

Interesting facts: crabs have a strong exoskeleton to protect them from predators, and if they loose a claw it can grow back, can tell males from females by their ventral side.

Starfish dissection

    

I found this dissection interesting because I always used to play with starfish as a kid and getting to see the starfish functions and internal organs was   Really cool and interesting
